Mother’s Day is a great day to tell your mama how much you love her! Of course you can and should be doing that everyday but let’s be real: we often take our mother’s love for granted as we grow up. Anyway, this is not a time to feel sad about all the morning messages by our mom we replied to in the evening — when we needed a quick recipe to cook a healthy meal at home. Instead, we can celebrate the unconditional love of mothers through these picture books.
Not to digress but listing these titles made me so very emotional. Reading aloud stories from physical books was never a ritual during my early childhood — maybe it was an Indian thing but stories were simply oral recitation of folklore and epics and legends. I must say I’m glad for hearing those while going to sleep as a toddler but picture books do hold this sweetness to them which is undeniable. So here I am, happy to share ten diverse picture books for kids to see themselves, their mothers, and the love between them on beautifully illustrated pages.
