Hey! I’m Fanna, a craft-forward reader enthusiastic about storytelling. If you’re a writer looking for comprehensive feedback, you’re at the right place.
Do I need a beta reader? To polish a manuscript, in-depth feedback that shares the perspective of a target reader is what you need. My feedback gives you exactly that, and so much more!
With over six years of professional experience in providing feedback, and as a reviewer as well as a writer myself, I can help you with detailed insights into what you’re doing best, what holds potential but needs work, and what might be pulling down the story.
Fanna is an absolute gem in the world of advanced reading!

What kind of feedback do you offer?
Detailed In-Line Comments — 1 USD/1K words
You will receive a marked manuscript where in-line comments will be added in real time to help you gauge my reactions as a reader and give you insight into how the story is being perceived while reading. Also, certain critiques will be detailed or suggestions will be added within a specific comment.
Answers to Your Questions — 1.2 USD/1K words
You will receive honest, constructive answers to your specific questions that can help you guide a beta reader’s eye, with up to ten questions. Anything from a wider perspective on the overall pacing to a particular sequence you aren’t confident about.
Comprehensive Reader Report — 1.6 USD/1K words
You will receive an elaborate reader report focusing on what was excellent, what was lagging, and what is strongly suggested—pacing, plot holes, character development, world-building, external or internal conflicts, writing, and the overall reading experience will be analysed.
Across all types of feedback, I include specific suggestions in sync with the author’s vision, a sharp focus on genre-relativity, trends, and tropes, as well as a guiding comment on where the story stands in its publishing journey, i.e., where to focus on during revisions or if the manuscript is indeed ready for querying or publication.
Get all three for up to 100K words @ 299 USD
Get detailed in-line comments, a comprehensive reader report, and answers to ten specific questions for your manuscript of up to 100K words. If your work exceeds this word count, a custom offer can be drafted for you. For a manuscript of up to 50K words or less, you can get this collective feedback at a fixed price of 99 USD.

What genres do you beta read?
Anything fantasy, science fiction, or speculative fiction! Epic fantasy, science fantasy, historical fantasy, romantasy, gothic fantasy, paranormal or urban fantasy, alternate fantasy, cozy fantasy, hard sci-fi, space opera, dystopian or apocalyptic, steampunk, cyberpunk, magical realism, etc.
I’m also very interested in genre-bending works where the fantastical is part of the parcel. I’m also happy to consider other genres, again, depending on my rare interest—particularly romance, thriller, and horror.
I read all demographics, from young adult, new adult, to adult fiction. I also read middle grade but not children’s fiction. I’m always open to short stories and novellas. Note: I only accept completed works, whether first drafts or well-revised versions.
What is the turnaround time?
I commit to a delivery date based on the word count of your work and the queue before you. If you’re on a deadline, I’m always happy to consider. But I highly recommend reserving a spot at least a month or two in advance.
I’m a fairly quick reader with solid comprehension, which helps me engage closely with any story at hand. My beta reads take 2-3 weeks to complete and you’ll receive consistent updates throughout the process. I’m currently booking for the next few months, i.e. February 2026 to May 2026.
She immerses herself into the work as well, wondering what will happen next, commenting on character personalities, and overall putting great efforts into showing the real reader experience.

Alright! I’m interested. How should I proceed?
Thank you for your interest in my beta reading service! Please fill out this form to help me learn more about your project and understand how I can support your goals. Once submitted, I will review your details and reach out with a confirmation email that includes an invoice, a payment link, and a Statement of Work (including a NDA) to sign.
Once you’ve made the payment for the beta read, I’ll send you a questionnaire to understand the specifics of your goals, your work, your audience, and your pain points. This would also include adding the ten questions, if applicable for the kind of feedback you chose.
As an experienced professional and a writer myself, I understand the value of confidentiality and will never outsource your work to AI tools or compromise it in ways that undermine your trust.
If you’re looking for a beta reader who pays attention to detail and cares about your work, I’d recommend you book a spot with Fanna!

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I submit a work-in-progress or an unfinished draft?
No. I’m only able to accommodate completed works and full manuscripts for a beta read. This is because the reading experience can be understood and commented on in-depth only when it’s a completed work.
I’m open to beta reading first drafts. If you’re currently working on a first draft and feeling stuck in the process, I suggest finding a compatible critique partner.
I do not beta read partial manuscripts, incomplete works, or an entire story in batches.
How are in-line comments different from the reader report?
In-line comments are made in real time as I read, capturing my immediate reactions and responses to specific moments, while the reader report provides an in-depth analysis after a full, considered read-through.
Do you beta read genres outside of fantasy or speculative fiction?
My focus is on fantasy, speculative fiction, and genre-bending works. If your work falls outside these genres, feel free to reach out to see if I can still offer insights relevant to your project, based on my interest.
How do I decide if I need a paid beta reader?
A beta read is for you if…
➝ you want an unfiltered reaction from a target reader to understand how each aspect of your story is landing or isn’t landing well with your audience.
➝ you’re experiencing revision “sticking points” —maybe the plot feels less structured, a character feels one-dimensional, or you’re worried the stakes aren’t making an impact.
➝ you want to discover where you lose readers so you can fix the issues with more focus and wish to test market potential through a fan of the genre.
➝ you’re looking for actionable suggestions and constructive criticism to elevate your manuscript and put your best work into the world.
➝ you’re seeking an affordable service that will leave you feeling confident about your next step in the publishing journey, whether with a direction for your self-edit or a green-light for querying/publication.
Can I ask questions after receiving my beta reader feedback?
You can definitely follow-up via a single email exchange (or two, I don’t count that well, haha. No, but seriously, I love to chat further) to clarify any doubts in the feedback or want a deeper insight on a point I made in the report.
Do you provide sample edits? Can I see any of your previous work?
My service is designed to assess and comment on the overall structure, character development, pacing, and world-building of your story as a whole. Since these aspects require a full understanding of the manuscript’s arc and themes, a short sample wouldn’t reflect the true value of the services.
Though, I do offer a free beta read for opening chapters, occasionally. Send me a quick email: betareader@fannaforbooks.com and I might send you a link to avail that!
Anyway, here is a sample to give you an idea of my reader reflections:
