—what is a book that has been on your tbr for years? for me, it's definitely six of crows. i've heard of this duology since the early days of bookstagram and have seen it reach its hype. even enjoyed watching the netflix adaptation, even though i must say i've read and liked the shadow and bone trilogy, so it's a divided credit. and then, finally, someone was so tired of me not having read it yet, they gifted me both six of crows and crooked kingdom. but, i still haven't read them. let's hope i pick it up this year, for at least my tbr's sake.
—do you annotate your books? i'm not one to use a lot of tabs or highlighters but my black pen and little hearts are in fact overused. of course, there's no right way to annotate books but i don't think there's any reader who doesn't leave such little hearts throughout a book while annotating.
—what are you currently reading?
a little late but i'm finally sharing a list of books i must read this year: #23in23 and i'm breaking it down into certain themes and goals, especially the horror titles since i'm hoping to read more of that genre in 2023.
What's a book that made you feel this way? Where the ending was happy for a few seconds but then the epilogue showed how worse everything is going to get in the sequel.
What are you currently reading? I've finally picked up A Day of Fallen Night by @say_shannon and I'm so, so ready to dive deeper into this den of dragons which is quite daunting in size but in this house, we aren't intimidated by huge books, we embrace them like a warm hug. Grateful for the copy, @bloomsburyindia!
What specific trope in a book never fails to impress you? I think the second an enemies-to-lovers trope turns tense and is under threat by the writer’s plans for a sequel, I’m both impressed and frustrated. It’s my true love for a trope, I think.
There are none. Of course, there are many reasons you *should* read fiction - the biggest one being it helps you escape reality and what more would a reader ask for.
