Why this little corner of the Internet?
This blog is a valuable resource for readers seeking stories that are worth their attention in this era of short attention spans—something that moves them, makes them want to read past midnight, and leaves them impressed. Which is why Fanna for Books focuses on what’s new yet craft-forward, all things fantasy and speculative.
I believe in bringing the right readers to a book, to help build a “hype” that lasts more than just a social media wave. Through my blog, you can reach your readers via something more foundational. A post on this website, like many content pieces on the Web, can be found performing even years after its publication—the magic of long-form content.
With over six years of experience in book blogging, I can write a review, craft a commentary, and curate a reading list with immense understanding of my readership.
The depth I bring to posts solely mine is reflected in collaborative posts too, letting the purpose of each post shine through every sentence. In an author interview, my questions are intended to build interest and guide an author to share the most impacting, memorable, and intriguing aspects of their work.
Even for guest posts, my suggestions for the topics bring my diligent focus on the story’s purpose and what the writer truly wants to share. Similar focus can be seen when I suggest an author to recommend books as part of a collaboration.
Everything is about the book and its author. Exactly why Fanna for Books can contribute to the marketing plans, publicity campaigns, and the goal of bringing a book to its readers—instead of the usual strategy of bringing readers to a book because that dilutes ingenuity.
Let me help you and your book reach its audience through a review or an interview or a guest post or a recommendation list that ranks high on search engines, reaches a wide audience, and leaves a long-lasting impression.
Book Review Policy
I’m always enthusiastic about reading early copies and promoting upcoming releases. If you’re interested in sending advanced reader copies or recently released titles for review, please send an email to fanna.the.blog@gmail.com with a synopsis, a release date, any related press, and other specific posting requirements.
I try to read ARCs before the publication to share a timely review but that’s not always possible due to other commitments. Though, I do share every book I read on this blog in one way or another — unless something about the content or the author has made me disregard and detach all support from the book completely.
If I love the book, it will surely earn a full-length review. All such review copies will be featured alongside a disclaimer. You can also suggest your short story, only speculative, for a review if it has been published around the web.
I’m open to reading fantasy, and broadly speculative fiction. If it’s a genre-bending or genre-blending work, I’d like to know more and gauge my interest. All demographics are accepted. Physical copies will get a priority. Important: I never charge a fee for a book review.
If you’re a publicist, I’m comfortable being added to blogger lists, receiving emails about available reviewing opportunities, and auto-approvals on distribution sites like Netgalley and Edelweiss. The coinciding email is fanna.the.blog@gmail.com
Author Interview
Authors, whether with backlist titles, recently published books or upcoming releases, can choose to be featured on this blog to reach a diverse audience and their target readers in particular. Each interview usually includes eight to ten questions that will help you speak about yourself, your writing process, and your creation.
If you have a few backlist titles, you can choose if the interview should focus on any specific book. If you’re a debut author and would like more specific questions to be asked with respect to your upcoming book, a review copy is preferred but not compulsory.
It’s advisable to book an author interview once purchase links and a book cover are available since that helps readers to immediately take an action when interested by your answers. Feel free to scroll through some of the interviews already published on this blog.
Please note: this is not a free service on the blog—unless I’ve approached you for a feature via social media or you’ve received an email invitation from Fanna for Books to be featured—and a non-refundable and non-negotiable fee of 60 USD is charged via an invoice. I’m also open to an agent or a publicist mediating an interview for their author. For any query, you can inquire below.
Guest Post
Everything from recommending books to recounting your publishing journey or unfolding the process of querying for other writers, from elaborating on the themes explored in your book to narrating how important it was for you to write it— you can write about anything and everything that aligns with this blog’s content, i.e., about reading, writing, experience in the industry, importance of diverse visibility and representation, etc. View some guest posts here.
Topics for a guest post can be suggested or we can quickly chat to brainstorm a topic if you haven’t already thought of one; once decided, we move ahead and decide on a publishing date.
Please note: this is not a free service on the blog—unless I’ve approached you for a feature via social media or you’ve received an email invitation from Fanna for Books to be featured— and a non-refundable and non-negotiable fee of 30 USD is charged via an invoice once the date of publication is agreed by both and confirmed by the blogger.
I’m also open to an agent or a publicist mediating a guest post for their author. For any query, you can inquire below.
Sponsored Post
I offer sponsored posts for both authors and businesses. If you’d like your book to be highlighted on this blog with a heightened focus, you can opt for one of the following formats:
Sponsor a reading list already scheduled.
You can choose to sponsor one of the reading lists already scheduled as part of my content calendar. For example, a list titled “34 Young Adult Fantasy Books to Read This Fall” will have an introduction highlighting your book or work. This costs 80 USD with two links redirecting to the book and the author.
Sponsor a reading list made to include yours.
If you choose this option, I will be curating a list highly resonant with your book and highlighting your book in this post. For example, if your book is a YA Gothic Fiction, I will be drafting a list that recommends Gothic books and bringing attention to your book in the introduction. This costs 100 USD with three links redirecting to the book and the author.
Sponsor a custom post made especially for you.
This includes a highly specific reading list that draws attention to your book or a commentary post expanding on a theme or two of the book. The specificity of a custom post brings more eyes to the content for its dedication to the book sponsoring it.
For businesses, this includes a detailed post about their products or services as well as five links dedicated to them. I’ll be providing a quote for a sponsored post like this, but it starts at 300 USD for a post of 1000 words. You can contact me for any inquiries.
